Web design services
If you need a new website, or have an old one that needs sprucing-up, I can offer a complete service - from designing and creating the site through to organising hosting, getting it indexed on Google and setting up things like email accounts.
All of my web designs are tested for compatibility with all major modern web-browsers and are checked for compliance with regulations such as the Disability Discrimination Act and the Companies Act. What's more, every site benefits from my unique maintenance system which makes keeping it up-to-date as easy as pulling a pint.
My prices are competitive, though naturally they vary depending on the size and complexity of the site you need. If you'd like to know more, please visit www.web-brewer.co.uk for full details.
I'm also available for longer-term IT work (Ipswich area or home working). Please email me for a copy of my CV.
Key skills:
- Web design: using CSS techniques, Javascript (with much use of JQuery) and CGI scripts. Ensuring cross-browser compatibility and accessibility to disabled visitors. I am currently in the process of teaching myself HTML5 and CSS3.
- Programming: primarily using Perl, but experienced with C and shell-scripting.
- Database design and use: SQL in general, mainly using MySQL but with Oracle experience as well.
- Unix system administration: primarily with Linux, but also experience with other variants such as Solaris, AIX and HP-UX.
- I also have a good working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, SNMP, SSH and many other aspects of IT.
